Yonex Lithuanian Open 2011
Visiem citiem iesakām rast iespēju un aizbraukt paskatīties sestdien, 11.jūnijā ceturtdaļfinālus un pusfinālus, bet svētdien, 12.jūnijā finālus. Atgādināsim, ka ir sācies Olimpiskās atlases laiks, tāpēc sagaidāms, ka spēlētāji būs papildus motivēti sīvām cīņām.
Atgādinām interesentiem, ka Lietuvā, Kauņā, no 9.līdz 12.jūnijam notiks “YONEX LITHUANIAN OPEN 2011” sacensības badmintonā. Šīs sacensības ir kvalificētas atbilstoši BWF gradācijai “International Series” līmenim. Pieteikšanās termiņš ir otrdiena, 17.maijs. Sacensību nolikums lejuplādējams šeit.
YONEX LITHUANIAN OPEN INTERNATIONAL SERIES BADMINTON TOURNAMENT CONDITIONS
1. No player shall be eligible to compete unless he or she is a player in good standing with his or her National Member Association.
2. The Championships will be conducted under the rules of the Badminton World Federation, the Regulations of the Badminton Europe Circuit and Lithuanian Badminton Federation including the prohibition of doping for which tests may be carried out.
3. The following entries will be accepted into the main draw: Men’s Singles = 32; Women’s Singles = 32; Men’s Doubles = 24; Women’s Doubles = 24; Mixed Doubles = 24. There will be no more than three rounds in any qualifying event.
4. Yonex AS50 feather shuttles will be used exclusively.
5. On Thursday and Friday the games will be played on 5 courts, Saturday – on 4 courts, and Sunday on 1 court.
6. Starting from Wednesday, 17.00 hrs., it will be possible to train on tournament courts. There will be no warm-up courts available.
7. Entries, in order of strength in each event, must be sent by the National Member Association to Lithuanian Badminton Federation, NO LATER THAN TUESDAY, 17th MAY 2011, via email or electronic registration. Late entries will not be accepted. In accordance with the Badminton Europe Circuit Regulation 17.1 the member association that enters a player into a Circuit tournament is responsible for paying the entry fees for that player. Entry fees will not be refunded in the event of a withdrawal. Lithuanian Badminton Federation agrees to allow entry fees to be paid at the Championships; they must be paid prior to the player’s first scheduled match, failure to do so will mean they will not be allowed to play. For all players withdrawing in the meantime, Lithuanian Badminton Federation will invoice the entry fee to the relevant Member Association. This will be sent by email, will clearly show a deadline for payment and will state that if no payment is received by the deadline the invoice, registration coupon and original invoice will be forwarded to Badminton Europe. Such invoices will be sent within two months of the end of the Championships. Entries may be refused if players have outstanding fees from previous years. All entries must be confirmed by the National Association. Lithuanian Badminton Federation will acknowledge all entries.
8. Any withdrawal after the Sunday immediately preceding the draw, for any reason whatsoever, renders the Member Association concerned liable to an amount of US$ 150,00 for the inconvenience caused by the withdrawal (as defined in BWF General Competition Regulations).
9. After entering a player(s) in the tournament it is the Member Nation’s responsibility to secure visas if required. Member Associations are advised to contact Lithuanian Badminton Federation immediately if they require applying for visas. Names of competing players and coaches should be clearly shown. An official invitation letter will then be sent to the Member Association. Member Association should apply for visas immediately thereafter.
10. Visa procedure: to avoid any misunderstanding about issuing visa and taking in account the strict procedures that are set by the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the following procedure is decided upon:
a. as soon as an entry of a visa needing country is registered with the Secretary of the Committee of Management an invitation for the entered player(s) will be sent immediately to the regarding Member Association. This invitation will be sent by e-mail or fax. This invitation is needed for application of a visa at the appropriate Lithuanian Embassy. Please write the passport number of all players on the entry form. If no passport numbers are entered, the invitation will still be sent.
b. In case this invitation has not reached the office of the regarding Member Association within 5 days after the entry is mailed or faxed this Member Association must send a new e-mail or fax immediately.
c. If 10 days after the sending of the invitation no message has reached the Secretary of the Committee of Management the invitation will be regarded as having reached and having been read by the Member Association.
11. The Qualifying Rounds are part of the Tournament. However, competitors indicating their unwillingness to qualify on the official entry form who are not accepted into the main draw will have their entry fees refunded. The entry fees for the YONEX LITHUANIAN OPEN 2011 are as follows: Men’s and Women’s Singles EUR 30, Men’s, Women’s and Mixed Doubles EUR 30 per person. All entry fees should be paid by wire transfer or cash upon arrival. Lithuanian Badminton Federation will not be responsible for any bank charges incurred.
12. Closing date for entries Tuesday 17th May 2011.
13. All competitors must be prepared to play at the times determined for the events for which they have entered. The Order of Play is as follows:
Thursday 9th June All qualifying Rounds
Friday 10thJune Men’s & Women’s Singles (1st & 2nd rounds)
Men’s & Women’s Doubles (1st & 2nd rounds)
Mixed Doubles (1st & 2nd rounds)
(All matches take place 9 A.M. to 10 P.M.)
Saturday 11th June All quarter-final and semi-final matches from 10am
Sunday 12th June All final matches from 11am
The presentation to all winners and runners-up will take place at the prize giving ceremony following the conclusion of the relevant final. Players are reminded when booking flights home on Sunday that the finals may not finish until 5pm, depending on the start time and also that they may be selected for doping testing – they should therefore book their flights accordingly.
Players shall not plan their departure less than two (2) hours after their last match is planned to conclude. If a player/pair is unable to compete due to early departure, such a player/pair shall lose all the Circuit Ranking points gained at the particular tournament and BADMINTON EUROPE shall propose to BWF that the gained BWF ranking points are also removed. (Regulation 9.7 in Badminton Europe’s Circuit Regulations).
14. The draw will be seeded in accordance with the regulations of the Badminton World Federation. Badminton Europe will make the draw.
15. The period for warm-up before any match shall not exceed three minutes.
16. Prize money will be allocated as follows: Singles winners – $600, Singles runners-up – $400, Doubles winning pairs– $1,000.
17. Clothing and advertising. Clothing and advertising is allowed as in the BWF competition regulations 19-23. Special attention is drawn to the following aspects. All clothing worn by players during play shall be acceptable badminton sports clothing. It is not acceptable to tape over nor to pin on advertising nor in any other way to modify such clothing to comply with advertising or other regulations. Each article of clothing may be of any colour or combinations of colours. Doubles partners are advised to wear the same colours in all matches. Wearing the same colours is mandatory in semifinals and finals. The shirt may carry advertising as defined below:
a. Up to three adverts each of 20 square centimetres or less, only one advert on the following locations: left sleeve, right sleeve, left collar, right collar, front of shirt;
b. Advertising contained in a band of uniform width not exceeding 10 centimetres; such a band may be at any angle and may be on the front of the shirt, the back of the shirt or both;
c. If, in the Referee`s sole judgement, there is a clash between the content of the advertising in 17.b and the event sponsors or TV broadcasters, or if the content of the advertising would infringe local laws or be considered offensive, then the Referee may limit advertising on the shirt to 17.a.
Other clothing:
d. Each sock and each shoe may carry two adverts provided each is 20 square cm or less;
e. Each other article of clothing may carry one advert as in 17.e.
18. The adverts in 17.a to 17.e may be the clothing manufacturer`s emblem or that of any sponsor.
Lettering and designs on player`s clothing:
f. The back of the shirt may carry the name of the player and may carry the name of the country, complying with BWF Competition Regulations 22.1-22.5; the shirt may carry on the front the flag or national emblem of the country represented. The name of the player on the back of the shirts is mandatory for players in semi finals and finals of the main event.
g. Abstract designs containing no advertising, commercial or promotional content, are permitted;
h. A design or lettering is allowed when it forms part of an advert permitted by Condition 17.a to 17.e and falls wholly within the permitted dimensions.
i. All lettering shall be in capital letters in the Roman alphabet, and in one single colour contrasting with that of the shirt, and be 6-10 cm in height. BWF has the right to use photographs, film material or any other image of players taken during events sanctioned by BWF. If for legal reasons such use requires the consent of the player concerned, the Member Association must ensure that such consent is obtained before entering the player.
19. When a player is entered in a BWF-sanctioned event, television/broadcasting and still photography of that event is permitted at all associated venues (including training/practice) without further need to seek the consent of the player of Member Association concerned. Television signals can be shown in any and all territories on live or recorded television, Internet, web casting, audio, film and other media of similar nature.
20. Players and officials staying in official hotel(s) will be picked up from Kaunas International Airport (free) only.
21. Tournament system: K. O. system, according to the Laws of Badminton and Competition Regulations of the BWF.
22. Journalist and Media Info: all journalists who want to visit the tournament must ask in advance for accreditation until 2011.05.09
23. PAYMENTS: all payments (accommodation, entry fee etc.) must be paid at accreditation via wire transfer (no credit cards accepted). Bank: AB `Swedbank` (HABALT22), IBAN account: LT28 7300 0100 0225 3250. In exceptional cases, cash will be accepted.
24. INSURANCE: Insurance shall be arranged individually by each player. During the tournament a doctor will be present in the hall.
25. Drug testing: Drug Testing may be carried out on a random basis at any time.
26. FURTHER PROVISIONS: The Yonex Lithuanian International 2011 Badminton Tournament should be played in accordance with the Laws of Badminton, the BWF Competition Regulations and the BE Circuit Regulations 2011/2012. In case of a dispute the referee shall have a decisive word.
27. Each participant must be ready to play at the specific time. If not present, his match will be forfeit. Therefore, the competitors should not leave the venue during the tournament unless allowed by the referee.
28. Advertisements and allowed clothing modifications must comply to B.W.F. Rules, No. 19 to 23. and Reg. 18 in Circuit Regulations.
29. Stringing service will be available during the tournament, the price for stringing will be 10 EUR with own strings and 15 EUR with bought strings.
30. BETTING: There will be betting on offer from this Event. Betting is however not allowed to be made by players or officials connected to the Event either in person or through a third party. Participants may therefore not make bets on the Event or procure through third parties the making of bets with a betting agency. Participants who, in violation of this prohibition, nevertheless make or procure through third parties the making of bets with betting agencies shall be immediately disqualified from participation in the Event and are liable for legal prosecution. Similarly manipulation of games will be met with disqualification and possible legal prosecution. Any violation mentioned above is also a breach of Player`s Code of Conduct (Art. 5.2.) and will be sanctioned by BWF.

32. The Tournament committee reserves the right to add to or alter these Conditions. Its decision in all matters will be final.
