Dear Member Associations!

Do you have any youth volunteers (18-25 years old) working in community badminton in your country or working in sport in a partner organization?

If so, there is an opportunity to nominate a youth sports leader to go on a course in Asia or Europe through the United Nations Office on Sport for Development and Peace (UNOSDP).

Background

BWF has recently formed a partnership with the UNOSDP.

UNOSDP runs Youth Leadership Camps for volunteers to train them as sports community youth leaders. BWF Members have an opportunity to nominate volunteers in badminton (who meet the below criteria) and to apply to attend a Youth Leader Camp in 2016.

The deadline for applications is 7th September 2015.

The purpose of the Camp is to train youth who have the potential to be community leaders in the field of sport for development.

Location of Training Camps

UNOSDP Youth Leadership Camps will be held in Asia and Europe and be open to the countries / regions listed below.

  • ASIA  – (Asia, Middle East, Australia, Oceania and Pacific Region)
  • EUROPE – (Africa, Middle East, Europe)

Members in Pan Am will be given an opportunity later – BWF will notify Pan Am Members.

BWF is inviting Members to consider this opportunity – to identify candidates that it would like to nominate. These may be volunteers from within your organization – or from partner organisations in your country.
